Decorated in a rare low relief technique with gilt enriched blossom branches, enamelled marks to the base.
These Harrach ruby red art glass vases, likely dating back to around 1880. These vases are characterised by their deep ruby red colour and elaborate gilt decoration, featuring raised gold enamel work depicting flowers and foliage and blossom and the other Lilly of the valley. The vases have a bulbous base that tapers into a slender neck, a shape common in Harrach glass designs. The gilt decoration is applied with meticulous detail, highlighting the craftsmanship associated with Harrach glass. Harrach glassworks, based in Bohemia (now the Czech Republic), was known for producing high-quality art glass, often featuring rich colour and intricate enamel work
from the collection of Poppy and John Stallebrass, previously sold at Christie's.
Height 18.5 cm
Cases glass is in fantastic condition, however the relief work had suffered from a few nominal knocks over time, however the busyness of the pattern does make it difficulty to notice.
