Antique Glass Pink brides basket/comport with Silver plated stand
Highly fashionable as a wedding gift in the 1900's this beautiful crafted item stands the test of time. This cased soft pink glass bowl with delicate riffled rim stands atop a flower shaped silver plated stand.
Bride's baskets became popular in the mid-19th century and were used to display the bridal bouquet or as part of the table setting at the wedding reception. They are now considered collectible antiques. The style of the basket in the image appears to be influenced by Art Nouveau or Jugendstil, known for flowing lines and natural motifs.
