Art Deco Walther & Söhne uranium glass "Möven" (seagull) figurine and Pelikan float bowl centrepiece

£200.00

This stunning Art Deco set is a highly sought-after Walther & Söhne "Möven" (Seagull) figurine and "Pelikan" float bowl centerpiece, produced in Germany during the 1930s. The vibrant neon glow is a hallmark of uranium glass, which contains small amounts of uranium dioxide that fluoresce bright green under UV light.

This specific combination of the seagull figurine and pelican bowl is a rare and valuable complete set.

Established in 1888, August Walther & Söhne is one of Germany's most famous manufacturers of pressed glass. The factory was located in Ottendorf-Okrilla, near Dresden, and became a leader in European glass design during the interwar years. During the 1930s, they produced their most iconic Art Deco designs, including figurines and centerpieces like the "Pelikan" bowl.

Fantastic condition, please note two slight nibbles to the seagull, do take time to fully view all the available images.
