A portable size Edwardian period book trough in mahogany wood. The size is suitable for use on a desk or sideboard or even on a coffee table. It has an inlaid marquetry detail to the sides which is in a contrasting shade of Satin wood in the organic form of a daffodil, very art and craft in style.
This type of item was commonly used in a study room or library of a larger house in the early 20th century.
Very good condition, light age related wear, marks and minor indents.
