








Rare Stuart and Sons 'Peacock' or 'Cairngorm' Epergne in both opalescent and Vaseline glass, c 1910, exclusively made for Liberty & Co.
Beautiful opportunity to own a unique piece of British Arts and Crafts glass, fro a world renowned glass factory, truly of Museum quality
This stunning show stopper is comprised of one large central bowl footed by 3 smaller bowls, with applied green, clear, opalescent and vaseline glass, adorned with a 'peacock eye trails' decoration, the design is also known as 'Cairngorm'.
Each glass element has been hand blown by artisan craftsperson, that being said there are individual slight variants in size and colour, two of the smaller bowls are more opalescent in style, therefore react slight less vibrantly under UV black light, if you are Uranium glass collector please be aware of this.
Brilliant condition, only some extremely minor age wear to the glass, EPNS silver stand had been sensitively polished and if in extreamly good condition, please do take the time ti look at all the pictures provided.
Stuart and Sons are reknowned known for this style of decoration with many documented examples. They were based in Stourbridge where other well-known glassmakers were also founded such as Stevens & Williams. Thomas Webb and Richardson. Along with these companies the Bohemian glass maker Harrach are also produced similar designs.
