Pair of Antique Art Nouveau Cranberry and uranium glass Jack in the pulpit vases

A striking pair of late 19th-century style art glass vases, beautifully executed in rich cranberry glass, the elegantly tapering bodies raised on contrasting green uranium glass stems and feet. The distinctive flared rims, inspired by naturalistic floral forms, are fashioned in the sought-after "Jack-in-the-Pulpit" manner, with finely ruffled and crimped edges. The undersides of the rims are further enhanced with delicate opalescent highlights, lending depth and luminosity to the composition. An exceptionally decorative pair, displaying the vibrant colour contrasts and organic forms so admired in period art glass.

These vases more than likely these can be attributed to Stevens and Williams Glass works.

These items are Victorian cranberry glass trumpet vases, likely dating from the late 19th century (circa 1880–1890.

These pieces typically date to the late 19th century (circa 1880–1890) and are often attributed to the Victorian era. While they function as standalone vases, this specific trumpet design was also a common component of Victorian epergnes—ornamental centerpieces used for displaying flowers or sweets.

While American maker Louis Tiffany later popularized the phrase "Jack-in-the-Pulpit", Stourbridge makers like Stevens & Williams actually introduced this specific cuckoo-pint / arum lily silhouette as early as 1850.

The crimped, spiral glass trim wrapped around the stems is called a rigaree or thorn trail. This type of hot-furnace applied decoration was a hallmark signature of Stourbridge glassblowers.

During the late 1800s, Stourbridge was globally celebrated for its high-quality lead crystal and rich color palettes, especially its vibrant, gold-fused cranberry glass
